Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2020 Thursday — Madonna Inn

We drove in to San Luis Obispo late this morning so that Mr. Fun could go back to the Apple/Mac Store to fine tune some of the necessary aspects, or maybe I should say features, on his new MacBook Pro that he purchased December 31st.

We had not had a meal yet so we stopped at the Madonna Inn to eat. It is definitely an icon. “The Madonna Inn is a motel that opened for business in 1958. It quickly became a landmark on the Central Coast of California. It was created by Alex Madonna, a successful construction magnate and entrepreneur and his wife Phyllis.”

So my photo is from our table at the restaurant. I put this same photo on my Facebook page today and several friends commented about honeymooning there.

I’ve begun to think of having Apple/Mac products as having cancer in one’s wallet. Apple/Mac just consumes (destroys) a wallet.

I have friends who refer to Disneyland as “the greediest place on earth.” I think that is true of the Apple corporation. They change the configuration of their plugs every few years and then all new adaptors, cables, and cords have to be purchased. Greed! not to mention the waste going to the landfill.

The day was beautiful here on California’s Central Coast. The morning began with rain and a lovely rainbow over the ocean. The remainder of the day presented a sky filled with enormous puffy clouds.

Good night from Cayucos,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
