world in a grain of sand

normal service will be resumed

the Council offices were closed at midday today due to the snow, but I had already made the decision to work at home today. M tried to get to Oxford for work, but decided discretion was the better part of valour after an icy skid, so he came to work at home as well.
We've never done this before, but it's been quite pleasant. Due to office moves (and noone caring about me, sniff!) I've been sitting on my own at a bank of 6 desks since well before Christmas, so it's been quite nice to have a colleague on hand. We even had lunch together! I expect we'll be back to normal by Monday, though the forecast doesn't look great.
I slipped out to post a letter - well, not literally, thank goodness. I thought the snow had fallen rather artfully on this letterbox. I also noticed we have icicles on the window reveals, so it must have got warmer at some point.
keep warm, blippers, I hope you avoid any adverse effects of the snow.
