My Magic Kingdom

6:45 am. Hot Air Balloon over Kromdraai

My day actually started about six hours before this! Mr G woke me at about 1am and told me he had been vomiting since 11pm last night. I gave him some medicine but it didn't help. He had a high tempreature and was not well at all. So I got dressed and took him to the hospital which luckily is five minutes away.

They put him on a drip and by four o'clock he had stabilised and I took him home. Of course my alarm clock is set for 5am so I knew I had to just get on with my day.

On the way to school clouds had started to form and in between the sun was still shining. Son S spotted this hot air balloon near Lanseria airport. I chose not to blip a close-up of the balloon but rather to show the landscape with the clouds, shadows and sun.

School went well. Day 2 with my gradies was fun as we had orientation games. With the help of the Grade 2s we introduced the 6 values of MCS. Each game represented one of the values: hard work, trust, discipline, respect, honesty and enthusiasm. They had to do an obstacle course, pass a balloon with no hands, a potato and spoon race, a washline race and finished with a chocolate game!

After school we had a few teacher meetings and then I had to get home to check on Mr G. He was still not doing well. I bought him new medicine but he was not up to getting out of bed yet. We ate supper and were all in bed by by 8pm.

Man is fond of counting his troubles, but he does not count his joys.  If he counted them up as he ought to, he would see that every lot has enough happiness provided for it.   - Fyodor Dostoevsky

My Joy Today:
~ Living close to a top class hospital.
~ Watching the Gradies enjoyment in the games and kicking my shoes off and joining them.
~ Driving home (a 50km drive on mostly open country roads) with the top down on a beautiful hot day.
