Flower of the Month - January

So, my next project is going to be .......(Drum Roll) Flower of the Month!
I plan to show case one wild flower every month that represents the area of West Sussex where I live.
So starting with good old half dead January I bring you Gorse!
Gorse bushes line the country lanes and B roads where I live, especially up on the roads through St Leonard's forest where the soil is a little more acidic. I love the fact it is so bright and cheery on dull winter days, certainly adding welcome splash of colour.
I have added a shot of a little green shoot on the honeysuckle plant (also growing in the hedge) - spring is on the way!
