NEIL

I was taking shots of the blizzard outside when Neil came into the room. I asked him to sit by the window so I could include him in the shot. He said he wasn't smart enough as he was just wearing old clothes to slob around the house. I said it didn't matter and then I said ......... " Don't worry I won't blip it". ( Liar, liar, pants on fire!) So Shhhhhh...don't tell Neil.

Its absolutely freezing here today and as you can see we had a blizzard this afternoon. My neighbour said he had passed a lot of accidents on his way home - lorries overturned etc. Sounds treacherous out there. Glad I have had a day indoors.

Neil enjoyed his trip to Edinburgh yesterday although it was really cold and he wasn't wrapped up enough. They went up to Arthur's seat, to The Castle and also went on the bus to the Zoo. He stayed at his friends overnight and walked home this morning..... 6 miles through the snow. He is working tomorrow and Sunday and then he has a week off. Not his choice to have a week off at the moment but its a compulsory " Winter Holiday ".

I have a ticket for the match tomorrow - Newcastle are at home to Reading. Hope the match will still be on and the weather isn't too cold tomorrow. I have my thermals all ready anyway.

Have just heard a tannoy message which is coming from the main road. Well I say heard it but I haven't much idea of what it was saying. Too far away and too muffled. Only thing I could sort of hear at is that " something " will be off for 2 hours. So that's water, electricity or gas. Out of those 3 I hope its the water as I can live without that for a couple of hours. The kettle has been filled just in case. So we may be about to be plunged into darkness or possibly the gas heating will go off or there will be no water. Can't wait to find out which!
