The Womp

Dangerous surf conditions today, the beach was officially closed. But  that didn’t deter the foolhardy teenagers coming down to experience the thrill of being thrown around in the surf like laundry in a washing machine.
Apparently this type of surf condition is called The Womp at this beach. No idea why . I grew up in the English countryside and all the surf terminology leaves me scratching my head.
