Snow

We had a short shower of snow this morning creating a thin layer all around this immediately froze solid so everywhere was very icy.It was sunny and where the sun had been the ice had started to melt.We were going to go for a walk but I got to the bottom of the steps and saw the car covered in solid snow and the lethal path to get to it so we changed our minds.Mike eventually managed to clear the car and put some salt down while I sat in the garden and watched the birds. The siskins have arrived , just about half a dozen so I’m expecting their numbers to increase over the next few weeks.
It was safe enough to go out at lunchtime so we went over to Beauly. We bought a take away soup and cheese scone and sat in the car watching the Bullfinches in the sycamore tree.I’ve never seen so many, must have been at least 10 and surprising how different the red can be on some of the birds. They were mainly males with just a few females but all enjoying the seeds.
Lots of red kites and buzzards around at the moment.
Mike was out for more Projectionist training at. Cromarty, not long till the little Cinema opens.
I watched Vera while Mike sorted out his DVD and Blu-Ray collection.
Sounds like it’s going to be a windy night.
