Forsythia
After last night's Partying (I've just posted yesterday's Blip) and late to bed I'm a bit jaded this morning and was rudely awakened earlier than I wanted by the Saber Warrior (Martin) wielding his chain saw at our very overgrown Sparrow hedge. He's done a great job, but doesn't do any clearing up, so the job is left to us. As you can imagine it was the last job I wanted to tackle today. It's cold, wet and very, very windy, and the re-cycling has emptied itself and is away down the street and not only ours, so after reclaiming as much as we could and with the help of our lovely next door neighbours, their two teenage children and all armed with secateurs, we set about filling 5 green bins full of holly and other mixed foliage - merely a drop in the ocean - so next door neighbour's BinL is coming with tractor and trailer to remove the rest.
To get away from the chain saw noise I went for a coffee and catch up with friend, Lizzie, and on the way there I passed by P's house and loved the Forsythia just coming into flower either side of his front door.
PS. The Sparrows and Starlings who live in the hedge must have suffered headaches but I'm glad to say that they are back in full chatter now and squabbling at the bird feeders.
