Assailable Mountain
No, I'm not bored of taking snow pictures yet.
Following yesterday's theme of places of my youth, today I decided to go to Thornes Park for a walk in the snow.
I've been a couple of times over the last couple of years to use the tennis courts, but I've not ventured further afield for many many years.
The children's play area has changed a bit since I was a kid. I'm pretty sure the slide shown here was a much more simple affair, several straight slides heading down what seemed like a pretty big hill to small people.
I remember spending fond hours scrambling up these rocks, and I imagine much shouting of 'I'm the King of the Castle...' at the top.
Off camera, to the left, is a patch of grass where I remember a birthday party occurring, in which we used some bats borrowed from school for a game of rounders.
Behind the hill is the miniature railway track.
700th Blip.
