Thank you all for your comments on yesterday's blip. You gave me lots of food for thought.

My original notion was that it was something to do with communication, like a telephone mouthpiece or a contraption which was used in some way, between rooms, to summon servants (we have other such things in situ in some of the rooms at Blair Drummond House).

However, after all your input I find I favour Richard's idea that it is part of a drone or chanter from bagpipes. I will need to carry out further investigation.

I might now attempt to blip some everyday objects from unusual angles.
