Silence of the Hoovers
Our main hoover died today with a bit of a warm electrical smell. We have three others (being who we are) but they were ones we inherited and really aren't great so the loss of the main one was significant.
First off was to order a new one and have gone for a 'Henry'.
However, the engineer in me was not inclined to leave it at that (a 2nd decent hoover would be useful) so I rummaged the internet and, yes, there is a video of someone taking this model's motor apart.
It's now scattered around the utility room floor and, lo, the circuit board inside the motor has a somewhat suspicious dry joint.
Bit too late to dig out the soldering iron now, will try that tomorrow.
