Terrible thumbnail of a big hole.
A lunchtime wander into and around the village, which took me on some of the permissive paths around the quarry. It’s a big one as you can see from the photo, in fact if you really zoom in you can see a dumper making its way out of the hole. They use 100 tonne dumpers to give you an idea of scale.
The most amazing thing about the quarry is that even though it’s there you wouldn’t really know it was there apart from 1230 every day when they blast for granite. The majority of the stone goes by conveyor to the railway line some two or three miles away so no endless lorries trundling about.
In other news, I’ve been remembering how to sharpen Fuji RAW files in Lightroom. It’s all about the detail slider and the worms!
