Annie Kenney

A leading suffragette who was imprisoned thirteen times in working for women's rights. She began her campaigning at the same time as Churchill was MP for Oldham. There is a blue plaque behind her statue on the wall of the town hall commemorating him (not the one in shot but to the left hidden by a column).
I find the juxtaposition of the two people somewhat incongruous; Kenney struggling for parity and justice, Churchill advocating sterilising the poor.
