Penny and a pound

Yesterday I looked up.Today I looked down and found a penny and a pound. Yes, I did.

Made me think of a metal church-shaped box we had in my childhood home. By my father's instigation, we'd put every coin we picked up in there.
When it was full he'd open it, count the (mostly) coppers and we'd buy sweets with it.

I told my father about my find today. "A whole pound!?" he said. "We could retire on that!"
