Compared to how the wall looked like 3 days ago.
We have decided to install a photovoltaic system, with solar panels on the roof and the additional accessories to have the most efficient power consumption between the grid and the own production. The blue box on the picture is the electrical converter, changing the direct current (DC) output from the panels to normal household AC power. An additional control module will change the way we heat the boiler. Today with cheaper electricity during the night, in future during the way when (hopefully) some sun will shine. The whole installation can be tracked by an app.
The installation is not yet fully finished. Will be interesting to see how it works and if it will change some of our habits in using electricity. On a yearly basis the installation will produce a bit more energy than we use in our household, but of course the time of production (mainly summer) and the time of main consumption (winter) are different. So we still need the grid as a battery function. To install batteries would be too expensive, considering the tariffs. The installation itself will be profitable, considering a break-even of plus/minus 12 years and an expected life-cycle of up to 30 years.
