a vase...
...heirloom
tucked away and - rediscovered while unpacking - a hidden box - who knew what treasures could be - found while digging around - in a closet - i pulled out a box - which was marked with my - own handwriting yet i - didn’t recognize it - i admit after the flooding - last year many items got - lost as well as misplaced - some have been found - some are simply gone - outside of what was - deemed a total loss by the - flooding itself - so when my hands came upon this - little box i was perplexed - as to what it - might contain
opening it with care - this vase was one of the - items inside and i was - left speechless - it’s a vase made by my - great aunt vi - we’d go to visit her - every summer and she - had this huge kiln in her garage - where she worked on pottery - i don’t remember how - i ended up with this piece - and over time - one of the leaves - has broken off - but it’s always been a favorite - of mine - i chose not to clean - it before photographing - just leaving it natural - due to its delicate state
hopefully no one - will mind seeing - some dust and dirt - on a fragile heirloom - instead overlooking that to see - the beauty and joy an aunt - brought to her family - each summer in a darkened - garage by the firelight of - a pottery kiln and how - it contributed to the makings of...
a
happy day.....
