Thinking more visually

Braidburn Valley park

A place I used to know well having been brought up just to the south of here, Braidburn Valley park. The photo was supposed to show Arthur's Seat in the distance, I guess that was optimistic with an iPhone!

There is a new geocache here - I raced out as soon as I got the email and just beat another cacher to the first-to-find claim :-)

It is a meltwater channel with a misfit stream - the valley was carved out by glacial meltwater and a small stream now makes its way through the huge v-shaped valley. There is also an open-air theatre carved into the hillside - one side has terraces for seats, the other has trees planted to bound a stage area, complete with stage entrances. There are also lots of cherry trees and the blossom is stunning in the Spring.
