It was One of Those Days

This is a Bufflehead Duck at a small lake behind our local library; the trails in the area are fabulous and well used by the people who work nearby or us who go to the library.

The Bufflehead looks Black and White until it swims into a perfect angle of the sun's rays, then its beautiful colors appear. We see them often this time of year; they hang out with the Scaups and Mallards. The next time I'm at the lake, I will try to get a Scaup; this time they were all sleeping far away from the shoreline. 

I'm tagging this for Abstract Thursday because the water has some abstract shapes and colors. 

Oh, the reason for the title is that today was a day of contrasts.....very sunny, then very cloudy, then sunny, then rain......you get the idea; walks had to timed very carefully.
