Tantalising moments

Folkestone Harbour re-echoed once more to the sound of steam today.

There was lovely light on the boats, and gulls and quaysides ... but not when needed most!! Got some wonderful other pictures but this is what I went to see and hear. Do you remember the first time you went to stay at the sea....?

Leigh on Sea around 1949 when I was 4 years old - I still remember the light and the smell of the sea... and the red trains above the beach.... and Peggy a sailing yacht that did trips out to sea..... and .... and ....
We lived in a very dark and damaged part of south London so the contrast couldn't have been greater.
