Bowness-on-Windermere

This morning's swim was in the rain. I had a new waterproof camera which has a very wide angle so took a lot of photos of my little finger. More practice needed.
I visted Bowness in order to examine the window in one  the churches which features in my 111 places in the Lakes book but the church was closed. I walked round the town, probably for the first time since we moved up here 18 months ago. Its usually heaving with tourists so I give it a wide berth but a friend who lives here told me mid Jan to mid Feb  was fairly safe. There's snow on the  hills in the distance
