Old versus new?

Our trip into town took us by Marischal College and the new city centre block that it now sits with on Upperkirkgate.  I've been inclined to defend the new build and I think I still do.  Somehow for me it's the cars and the city centre grime that seem to detract, not the different styles of architecture. That said, it was lovely to see some bright sunshine for a change.
