Accomplished afternoon in Allotment
It was the first decent day for a month: dry and bright and not the wet, overcast, depressing and dull weather that has been the norm since mid December. So after the Cardio Dance class this morning it was the allotment for me to get some overdue jobs done. I was joined later by brother who tidied the Poly tunnel and raised beds preparing them for the forthcoming growing season. I: planted Japanese onion sets; cut down Jane J autumn raspberry canes to ground level; pruned and tied in cordon apple trees; and hoed and turned over soil that had been compacted during recent flood events. All in all an accomplished, feel good afternoon.
