Stone’s throw
I went to the same beachside restaurant twice today for two meetings and for some reason it only now strikes upon me strongly that my office is about two hundred metres from the beach. Although the temperature today was akin to a furnace, I should make a habit of mozying down here more frequently to allow the Indian Ocean winds to blow away the cobwebs of project admin and internal politics. I’ve never been based in such close proximity to the coast so I shouldn’t let the benefits pass me by. I may just wait until the southern hemisphere autumn kicks in around March or April, so I don’t return from a lunch break resembling a fried tomato.
