This Aint No Technological Breakdown
it was indeedy the road to hell.
Our company recently bought another company and on Thursday I Spent the majority of the day there.
Driving up - I left later. The last time I drove up- I left at 7.45 and got to the office for 9. This time, after they told me I should leave later and "miss the traffic" I left at 8.15, and got there at 9.30.
I don't miss the daily commute. Si and I used to drop the kids with my mum at 7,30 and oh my god, we dragged them out of bed at six thirty.... and then drive to Glasgow - me dropping him, me parking up at the office - and then we would meet up again at home time.
It meant that we had at least an hour and a half tiwce every day together in the car.. which was the best bit, but it was also three hours away from the kids. - Which is why every evening and every weekend were theirs.
We were slaves to the nine to five, but from seven til seven monday to friday we were theirs, and from 5.30 on a Friday until 6.30 on a Monday.
I miss the busy weekends now.... The allotment has stepped in, where hockey matches, football matches, or volleyball matches once existed. And Planning beds, and choosing seeds have taken over from homework help and training sessions.
It's a different life, but no less interesting.
