Tea Ceremony

Our wedding anniversary today. We haven’t spent one in Melbourne for years!

We visited the East Garden of the Imperial Palace this morning. It was beautiful but we would have enjoyed it more it it wasn’t SNOWING on us. Some one told us it’s the first snow in Tokyo this winter!

After the gardens we headed to Daimaru and had lunch at Paul Bocuse. Mrs eosferret has wanted to eat at his restaurant for years but it closed in Melbourne so it was nice to try it on holidays.

After wandering out of the shops we headed to Shinjuku for a tea ceremony. We started by making a white bean paste sweet to eat as part of the ceremony. It was a nice balance of explanation and ceremony. Each step was performed very seriously but then explained to us.

It has been a lovely day.
