It's been a long cold lonely winter....
Not really over yet is it? But It felt like it this morning.
Rather amazingly - himself and I got up at 9 this morning, and nipped up to the allotment. There was not a soul in sight, and the two of us set about some maintenance work around the place.
It felt like forever since we had been there. - I snipped the early raspberries away, and selectively snipped the late raspberries. I pulled all the old cabbages, and the brussels up.
Himself carried 5 bags of potatoes up to the second plot and emptied them into what was the salad bed. We got a whole bucketful of potatoes, a lovely mix of white and red.
Then I weeded the leeks and the parsnips. I'm delighted to say that despite the Rabbit attack the parsnips still appear to be growing under the soil - I'll leave them for another month and hopefully we'll get them.
This afternoon was a bit traumatic. After parking the car at the supermarket, and takinga walk around the town - and then shopping, we discovered we had left the keys IN THE CAR, and the car had locked itself and we couldn't get in.
We stood and contemplated for a while, and then jumped a taxi home - ran in, got the spare key and headed back. ...
And when I say "Headed back".... we walked, at Si's pace. My poor wee leggies could barely keep up.
Still 8000 steps in addition to all the other steps today. yawn.
I'm going to nap now.
