Three 'R's

A beautiful day - like yesterday, but without the cold wind, so I went for a local walk. Lots of people had had the same idea. It was a perfect day for Zen birding - finding a nice spot and waiting for the birds to find me. The greatest entertainment came from 2 (W)rens who were foraging and chasing in some drystone walls. I also spotted quite a few Rooks - not unusual in the horse fields around here, but the first I've seen this year. The other birds for my year list which seem to be in short supply this winter, were Redwings; a flock of about 8 were settling briefly in the trees, then dropping out of site to feed in the fields. Number 60 for the year.
