A windmill at Tefia
Windmills were introduced to windswept Fuerteventura by colonists in the 18th century and located in open areas where the presence of the trade winds guaranteed a source of energy to drive the blades. To my knowledge there are no working mills on the island now and only a few tourists, chipmunks, lizards and ring doves frequent them.
