First Adult of the Season!

Today I caught a rare glimpse of the praying mantis that lives on the grapevine in the greenhouse. It has reached the final instar and is now an adult. This was especially exciting for me because it most likely came from the ootheca I rescued last autumn and kept over the cold months before taking it into the warm greenhouse. Hatching day was November 22nd. Compare this grown-up with the babies that day. I wonder if this is the only one or are there more lurking unseen in the grapevine?

Meanwhile, I have lost track of the other two I was watching. They have melted into the green of the tomatoes and cucumbers.
