Second day in storm Gloria.

Last night was a bit scary. I could not sleep that good. I heard the wind howling outside and some stuff move along the streets. It wasn't raining that much after midnight, but the wind was destructive in many areas around us.

Lots of seaside restaurants and shops and houses have had damage with the rising waves and sea level. Roof and fence damages around. So much snow inland from us. It's amazing how much snow they have. Red cross is trying to find homeless people to take them to shelters.

Most serious damage nearest to us is in Arenales del Sol. I blip it sometimes, like here:

on my walks. The houses are now days so close to the sea (they used to be 200m away) that they might have to evacuate people from the first line. We'll see. There's some damage with the fences at least.

We had another episode with thunder late this afternoon. It was coming down so that it felt like it was raining inside. We got 5mm of water in 10min. (I was following our weather station statistics which are online.)

So, it's been quiet day spent mostly inside. We did drive to the beach to see if we saw any snowy mountaintops. And we did. The clouds tried to distract us, but in his picture you can see the snowy top of Aitana below the clouds. Later we saw snow on top of nearly all the mountains around us. All the mountains we have hiked. Quite cool. Too bad it's too dangerous to drive to see them. Have to wait until the storm front passes us completely and they have time to open the cut roads.

So, being mostly inside, we trimmed the dogs. That was something that I feel I really accomplished.
