Leonardo at the Louvre

A view of the Carrousel du Louvre, which eventually leads to the museum. It has a large collection of works by Leonardo da Vinci, and has put them on a four-month long exhibition, complemented by a fair number of works from other collections. We went to the museum this afternoon with our exhibition tickets for last Friday (1/17), when entry  was totally blocked by labor union demonstrators. Today we expected that we would be given tickets for a later date, but in fact we were able to go in immediately.  Although crowded, we were able to see the show well, which includes  a large number of drawings (there were just nine paintings--still a majority of those extant). I find the drawings not easy to appreciate, but it was a very worthwhile experience.
