Where are the nuts?
The jays always make it known that they're in the garden with plenty of loud squawking. They're either complaining about the lack of monkey nuts or about Juno being in the vicinity or squirrels stealing "their" nuts. When I hear the squawks, I make sure I've done my bit by replenishing the monkey nut stash and I leave the squirrels and jays to work out the bird table rota. Juno's not too interested in the jays – I think they might be too aggressive in their shouting. Pigeons, though...
The boiler engineer came round to swap a metal fixing for a plastic fixing (the metal one would corrode in time and it should never have been put on and who was the idiot who did that – someone from the firm he works for!). Last week, when he came round to service the boiler, he was worried that it would be difficult to swap round (depending on whether the thread was worn or not), but it took him all of a few minutes (thread wasn't worn). He was a happy chappy and someone has had a word with someone else in the firm about that metal fixing. All sorted.
Another productive West Norwood Feast meeting tonight, this time about the kit. Methuselah the cat supervised by sitting on various coats, favouring the coat of the volunteer who's allergic to cats.
