Just completed a super jigsaw (a birthday prezzie from my sister). It's a map of Devonshire (now Devon) and is proving fascinating to pore over. Our village's name doesn't appear, but our neighbouring village Stoke Fleming does - and is even spelt the same (unlike Dartmoor - Dart More, and the familiarly shaped Mew Stone, which here is spelt Mewston). It's also interesting to see the word Hvndred and, abbreviated, Hvnd, appearing at intervals all over the map. These marked out administrative districts in the 1600s when the map was drawn. It really is a super jigsaw and this detail is perfect for the Tiny Tuesday challenge, this week doubly fitting the theme "something you appreciate" - jigsaws in general, and my sister's thoughtfulness in this prezzie.

It's also interesting to note that the English Channel on this map is called The British Sea.

Thanks to KangaZu for hosting the challenge.
