A different interpretation of ‘Let’s Dance’

Back in the 1980s British music weekly NME has an end of year special double issue. For this artists were commissioned to interpret a notable tune from the past year as part of an Illustrated Songbook.

French artist Serge Cleeve turned David Bowie’s hit single Let’s Dance into a brutal comic about abuse, as shown in this shocking panel. It stuck with me for years, and I eventually bought a back copy of the relevant NME.
