Jilting Summer

We’re in the middle of a summer that has been less than great. November was hot and sunny, with warm overnight temperatures. The last six weeks, however, have had few hot days, not much sunshine, and nights when the temperature dropped to 5ºC. The silver birch has given up and moved on to autumn.
