ALMOST

ALMOST MUGGED . . . at the Battle of The Riverside last night . . . against a very physical Birmingham City side, who were determined to waste time, Boro were nearly mugged.

A penalty awarded to Boro after 22 minutes . . .and missed. 4 minutes later BC take the lead with a goal scored by . . . and ex-Boro player. Two more injuries for Boro in the first-half and more academy young players thrust into action.  Boro equalise with 9 minutes to go . . . then all hell breaks out as ref loses control of the game, failing to stop for an injury as BC get the ball in the net again . . .  from an off-side position. Coaches of both sides spill onto the pitch and Leo wins his battle with two BC coaches and gets a red card for his troubles. Two BC coaches booked as well. The goal disallowed . . . hmmm. All in all a 2-2 draw would have been the fairest result. Phew what a night.
