David's funeral

Dreadful photograph, but the only one that properly represents my day. It was taken in St Ninian's Episcopal Church in Troon, where David was a member and where a packed congregation celebrated his life today.

Afterwards, in the Piersland House Hotel, the young MacFreuchies and I had a chance to catch up with the Troonies and several mutual friends over a fine buffet. By then, as usual, the prevailing feature was laughter, not tears, and many glasses were raised in David's memory.
