I've moved the birds water onto a nearby table to stop the pigeons turning it into a mud bath. Blackbird has soon clocked where it is.

Thanks dear pals for your sympathetic comments yesterday.   I managed to haul myself to singing and was glad to have done so. As my bass pal Phil said : " it lifts your spirits ".

I've started re-reading Hilary Mantel's wonderful 2 volumes of her trilogy on Henry 8's ace fixer Thomas Cromwell. I believe the awaited 3rd volume is being published this spring.
She opens " Bring up the Bodies " with the memorable line : " His children are falling from the sky ".  What a stunner.
