The "shop" is actually the Athens Metro.

According to the mood of the employee's union, the Athens metro can stay open or closed like it belongs to the union, like it is their own shop, their own property.

Who gives a damn about the other poor people who use it for going to work, for going shopping for .....

Who gives a damn for the others who suffer staying for hours in the traffic.

Who gives a damn about those -the owners of the other shops e.g. downtown- who are expecting some customers, but the customers cannot come because there is no metro today.

There was no metro yesterday and only the union knows when there will be metro again.
