Another Languedoc year...

Long forgotten

When Ali came back from England with a few bottles of bitter lemon I was thrilled. It was the special treat my Grandma would get out when I was about fourteen. I've seen it as something to be savoured ever since. There's nothing quite like it here in France.

Imagine my delight when I remembered some pals had brought some home-made sloe gin when they came to stay a few years ago.

Yes, I can make a Long Pedlar - something I haven't had since the late '70s. Sloe gin topped up with bitter lemon. Delicious.
