Erin go Bragh!

Just back from an excellent few days in North Kerry. The weather was kind - blazing sunshine on the way up, soft greys the next day, followed by fog and more sunshine yesterday. Much mud was encountered as were numerous fields, an island reached by a causeway, saltwater marshes, boggy farms, the odd mad dog and a delightful chap with few teeth. We bagged thirteen wells, several tower houses, a friary and some impressive stained glass. We stayed in Listowel which has a fabulous selection of old shop fronts - this one I especially loved showing the Maid of Erin, plus harp, round tower and wolfhound, all national symbols. See others in the extras. The stained glass was in a 1970s church in Tralee and is by Murphy Devitt - one of Finola's current passions,  more about them here . It was magnificent. And the square is Tralee , all geared up for Chinese New Year. The  view is appropriately enough Ladies' View just outside Killarney. The sun was shining, Killarney and all its tourist hotspots was empty so we enjoyed a visit to Torc Waterfall and a stroll around a lake, usually heaving. Backblips will follow asap.
