Terraced houses on Knowles Street in Rishton.
It has been mostly cold and grey skied today and I am amazed how fast January has disappeared.
Nothing much to see in the garden, so this row of houses was interesting for today. They date back to the 1890s and people who live here, tend to stay here for many generations. These properties were originally built for textile workers, who worked long hours for very little money.
It this generation most houses have double glazing and central heating and some even have solar panels. All these things would have been unimaginable to the Victorian textile workers.
