Thankyou event

Enjoyed today, spent most of the day in the church kitchen chopping onions/garlic/veg for a meal that Sam coordinated, for an event Georgie coordinated for all our church volunteers. We, staff and elders, prepared, served and cleared up (good team building!) and there was a really good atmosphere, a lot of appreciation, and a little bit of awkwardness from people who were more used to serving than being served! An extra of the calm before the crowds arrived (the meal was for 250! - we have around 300 volunteers!).

Throughout the day Paul, Gill and Celia entertained our children - and then our kids entertained a lot of the guests by running around in their PJs - all our babysitters are volunteers of some capacity or another! Then the Lydens kindly left a bit early and put them to bed.

I seem to have got very behind on blip... whoops!
