The 249 pieces shown yesterday have all been put together. And there were no pieces missing. So here we have for your amusement, a Lego Fire Station with fire car and three firemen.

Spent much of the day in the Annual Conference of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A hundred people listened to an inspiring lecture given by Dame Fiona Reynolds. She was the former Director of the National Trust and is now the Master of Emmanuel College Cambridge.
Her theme was the importance of preserving the beauty of our countryside.

She was a member of the panel set up by the Government to review the future pf the National Parks and AONBs. It reported last year and the challenge now is to persuade the Government to implement its recommendations.
