Solar mobile phone charger

Solar-powered mobile phone chargers like this one have appeared recently in various squares in my neighbourhood. They seem like a good idea but I've never ever seen anyone use one. Of course they're already covered in the ubiquitous graffiti.

My walk today was less adventurous than yesterday but my 'first' was that I replaced the crutch with an ordinary stick ... which seemed to go ok.
