Wedding at The Mission Inn
Late this afternoon Mr. Fun & I drove to The Mission Inn in Riverside. It's about 16 miles east of where we live. It is a privately owned world famous National Historic Landmark hotel. We were going to Michelle & Burt's wedding at the non-denominational St. Francis Chapel at the hotel.
The chapel has an impressive entrance and the patio that leads to the chapel is beautiful with a water fountain and marble tile floor. About 300 weddings take place each year in this chapel that seats about 150 people and contains a most magnificent altar curved of cured cedar and covered completely in several layers of gold leaf.
Today the weather was perfect, the flower girl was cute, the bride was beautiful, the guests were in awe, and the reception that followed included a delicious sit-down meal with chocolate wedding cake for dessert.
I love weddings.
Good night from Southern California.
