Albufeira

Once a citidel, then a fishing village, then a holiday resort, and today a large modern city stretching along the coast.  However, it does have it's charming spots, at least in the low season.
We walked down to the street below and wandered along it before turning back up the hill towards our car.  Just a minute or so from the car the heavens opened. Water spurted out from drainpipes and off balconies and flowed down pavement and road. Within seconds I had very wet legs and feet!
We returned to the hotel and made use of the jacuzzi and sauna, and read our books, and prepared for the homeward journey tomorrow.
