Vignette domestique

Claire works at the kitchen table. Nick works on the sauna. I work in the office. Outside it’s damp and chilly.

The mushrooms are growing bigger every day. According to the instructions, I need to wait until the edges of the caps begin to turn upwards. Won’t be long now.

I rustle up a lovely dinner, slow cooked chicken, in a thick vegetable and bacon sauce, puréed parsnip, and steamed calabrese. Chicken and bacon home produced.

For evening entertainment we watch Samuel L Jackson and Kevin Spacey in The Negotiator. Spacey might have turned out to be a very bad man, but he sure could act.
