Broken Down

Broken down the story...

I had a problem with my clutch today, I couldn't get it into gear and got stuck pushing the car to the side of the road bare footed.

Why no shoes, well I had kitten heels on and they would slip on the road surface.
A man called Ian stopped and helped me push Kirah (my car) to the side of the road and very kindly took me to my parents house.
Dad was really poorly today and so with me getting stressed about the car I needed to keep out of his way so I didnt upset him too.

I then got out the Thompson local and found a garage that could help. (brilliant place too, Auto Repairs and recovery at Littlehampton) then I called the RAC and they had a Van come out to me to Tow me to the garage no faffing at the side of the road this time just a tow. I'd boked the garage this time.

I'd stopped outside Yapton Metal yard and the man and lady there were lovely asking if I wanted to come in and wait, but my discription of where I'd left the car to the RAC was a bit vague so I said thanks but no they then said when the RAC came we were welcome to use their yard.
Then Mary a Jehovahs Witness came by and chatted saying did I need a lift she was quite happy to drop me off, but I said no thanks I'm waiting, so then she offered to go and get me a coffee at the local shops, again I thanked her and said no. Can you imagine full of coffee hopping from on leg to the other while I wait. Better to keep fluid free I thought.

So all in all it was a rough day but not too bad.
£8 cab fare from mothers to Yapton Yard
£56.40 parts and labour for the new clutch cable.
Then shopping for me only (didnt get to take mum £25.)

Back to my parents to let them know everything was OK, then Mark and Gav my brothers took Mum to get a new TV to hang on the wall so my Dad didnt get bored in his hospital bed in the back room. They fitted it all up, and drilled a hole through the conservatory doors so that his oxygen machine that isnt too noisy during the day but at night makes it impossible for anyone to sleep was given a new place to live. Dad doesnt need much tubing now to get from room to room as he cant walk so its cleaner and easier this way.

While they were out buying, I sat with Dad we had a cup of tea together and chatted, it was nice, just him and me for a change. He doesnt need much but he does like a chat sometimes, especially when he is cooped up unable to get around so hearing how Lewis passed his test and how everyone is doing made him happy.... although not as happy as he new telly did... he can watch the news now and feel part of the world again.
