Male Bullfinch

This morning I did the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch and was lucky to be visited by this beautiful bullfinch during my count.  I had 12 different species and was pleased to see a pair of Greenfinches, they're rare visitors to my garden but they timed it right today.

This afternoon we went to a local nature reserve that was a sea of mud. and had a chat to a couple of volunteers that were working there.  Afterwards we went to the garden centre to do a bit of research for a small tree for my front garden. The purchase will be made in the spring when I can see them in flower.
